The volleyball season may be over but the awards keep piling up for the Kirkwood Community College women.

 Sophomore outside hitter Heather Brus and freshman outside hitter Chanda Goedken were named to the NJCAA All-American Second Team on Dec. 4, 2009.

"I appreciate being recognized and I'm very grateful for this honor," Brus said.

 Brus and Goedken were selected to the Region 11 All Tournament Team and the ICCAC All Conference First Team before being honored by the national organization.

 Brus led the Eagles with 408 kills on the season, followed by Goedken with 392.  Goedken also topped the chart in digs, with 3.2 per set.

 Goedken was one of only two freshmen to earn distinction as a member of the second team and one of only five freshmen selected to the entire All-American squad.
