Lisa Baum, development director for Kirkwood Community College's jazz radio station, KCCK, has the best of both worlds.

Her position combines two of her passions: helping raise money for a worthy cause and listening to jazz.

Baum is in charge of fundraising for KCCK. A public station, KCCK does not sell advertising and relies heavily on donations for its operating costs.

"I'm a fundraiser, a salesperson," said Baum. "I'm always looking for new ways to attract donors to the station."

Baum joined Kirkwood in July 2008. Before she worked at the University of Iowa for 20 years as a fundraiser.

Baum graduated from Iowa State University with a degree in journalism and advertising design.

"I've had a wonderful life with lots of interesting jobs," she said.
