Kirkwood Community College will exhibit works by Lawrence Fritts and Sue Hettmansperger in the Iowa Hall Gallery from Nov. 16 to Dec. 12.
This will be a multimedia show featuring oil paintings from Hettmansperger, music composed by Fritts and video collaborations.
"It will be great to have an exhibit that will also feature music as well as art," said Arbe Bareis, fine and performing arts specialist at Kirkwood.
Hettmansperger and Fritts are University of Iowa professors.
Hettmansperger has numerous paintings on display across the United States. Fritts teaches composition and directs the electronic music studios at the UI.
Hettmansperger's paintings in the gallery will form a mural that cites the major areas of education taught at Kirkwood.
After the exhibit closes, the mural will be placed on campus in an atrium space that connects different learning areas of Kirkwood. According to a press release from Steve Carpenter, Public Information Services director. Bareis said that space would be Cedar Hall.
An artists' reception is scheduled from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11. The gallery and reception will be free and open to the public.
