For all who take pride in dressing up for Halloween, Student Life will be hosting a costume contest today.
Students are encouraged to dress up in costumes for the chance to win prizes. According to Seth Vander Tuig, Student Life coordinator, prizes range from candy to bookstore and Hy-Vee gift cards.
The event will be at 11 a.m. at Sammy's Kafe. The contest is open to students, staff and faculty.
Judging will be based on categories. "In the past we have done things like scariest, funniest and most original," said Vander Tuig.
Students also will be able to take part in group costumes.
"It is that one chance every year that someone can dress up and probably about 100 people, including students and staff, decide to do it," said Vander Tuig.
