Imagine a commercial promoting a new, magical health product. The announcer claims that this product can make you thinner, keep you looking younger, and even prevent cancer. Would you be interested in the product?
We hear about the importance of sleep all the time, but in today's busy world, knowing about the real significance of it and actually finding the time to get an adequate amount of it are two completely different things.

Why did you decide to become a biology major?
I don't really know to be completely honest. I am not the genius medical student who has high aspirations to become a surgeon or anesthesiologist but rather a guy who enjoys a challenge. I knew that majoring in Biology would be a road less traveled due to its reputation as a rigorous course load, but for some psychopathic reason that is what drew me in.

From its beginning as a classic childhood tale to its much-anticipated, March 5 3-D movie release, "Alice in Wonderland" has been winning the hearts of its audience for the past 145 years.
The story started out as Lewis Caroll's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," a novel about one little girl's trip down a rabbit hole.

As if the original "Alice in Wonderland" wasn't strange and trippy enough, Disney proved in the 1990s that adding some overalls, live actors, and a rabbit in rollerblades to the mix could take something awesomely weird and make it just plain ridiculous.
"Adventures in Wonderland" was the story of Alice, your typical all-American girl, and her trips to Wonderland via her bedroom's full-length mirror.

"My name is Shelia Hurt and that is my legitimate name, not my derby name-everybody asks me that."
Meet Sheila. If you passed by her on the street, you probably wouldn't think that she was too out of the ordinary. But that couldn't be more untrue. Sheila Hurt is one of the founding mothers of the C-U Rollers, a rapidly growing Champaign-Urbana roller derby team.

When I was in college, the rumor was that if your roommate committed suicide you got your tuition and room for free. Of course sitting around the lunch table we would joke around about those who might commit suicide or who we might want to do it- but it was just joking.

Here I am in Dublin, Ireland. It's a Tuesday night, and what are we preparing to do? Why, go to the pub, of course! Before I scamper off, let me tell you something.

What meaning do those words hold, when spoken in a bar between a man and a woman? Does the meaning change when the setting changes? What if instead the situation involved a woman talking to another woman in school? It may not be enough to generically compute the combined definitions of the words to know where the speaker is coming from, nor what he or she is hoping for.

Located on the corner of Peoria and Jackson in the middle of Greektown is the new Tailor Lofts apartment complex. It is currently undergoing a top to bottom makeover that will retain some of the building's original architectural features. The 126 CTA line has a stop in front of the building which is two blocks down from the UIC-Halsted Blue Line stop on the el, making Tailor Lofts an accessible living spot for students attending any number of Chicago's universities.

Many of us students, as well as the average American are in a battle against the bulge, and trying to keep off those pounds. We may also take a look at television shows, like "The Biggest Loser," for inspiration and motivation to continue with this battle.

I don't say that in a negative way. Lawrence certainly served as a stepping stone to shiny new adventures. Heck, getting out of "dodge" by way of Lawrence was once a big dream in and of itself. Just the other day I dusted off the yearbooks as I packed them away for my next adventure.

Young: Tell me about how you came to Lawrence.
Gilbert: I grew up in the Minneapolis area. When I was five we moved out to the suburbs. I grew up in Minnetonka. I went to Carleton College, and went there as a scientist. I took all these science courses, and got to the end of sophomore year and decided I wanted to be an English major, which astonished my parents, but it was a premonition about how I was interested in lots of different things, and didn't want to narrow my focus too early.

During my Italian classes in high school, my teacher gave us many prompts: you are lost in Rome, ask for directions; you are in a grocery store, buy food for a picnic. There was one we didn't get to: you are videochatting with a stranger. What will you say? What will you show? Perhaps she should have.

Well now, this is a shocker. Generally, when a horror film is set to be remade, it is doomed to swim the bloody seas of mediocrity. (I'm looking at you "Friday the 13th"…among others.) However, "Sahara" director Breck Eisner has actually crafted a solid remake.

Marijuana is being used medicinally in fourteen different states. So does that make it less of a crime now if a person were to get caught with a joint today?
Many want to argue that it's accepted by the general public and the worst thing that will happen to a normal law abiding citizen is that the cops will just tell you to throw it out.
